Local Conservative by-election candidate Bob Neill has expressed his concern at the financial deficits for hospitals serving Bromley residents after Government figures this week revealed they have worsened by more than £15m in the last six months.
Bob Neill, who has been the Assembly Member for the local area for the past six years, has experience of working to improve hospitals through his work on an NHS health authority.
Bob said:
"I'm very concerned to see that the deficits of these hospitals seem to be getting worse rather than better. Our local NHS staff do a fantastic job every day - but they are doing so in the face of the Government's policy failures, which are making their lives harder. Given the fact that other hospitals have already announced job cuts and delays in carrying out operations, I share local concerns about what will happen in Bromley if the situation doesn't improve."
Bromley Hospitals NHS Trust finished the year £15,765,000 in deficit, Queen Elizabeth Hospital NHS Trust finished the year £19,199,000 in deficit, and Queen Mary's Sidcup finished the year £19,692,000 in deficit according to figures released last week. In just six months, the financial position of these 3 NHS Trusts has deteriorated by £15.6 million.

Bob-a-Job Neill has a brass neck when he babbles about caring for local Bromley hospitals. He's very happy to support buckets of UK money being given to Brussels to spend on jollies for Blue Labour/Tories (can you tell them apart) but he doesn't live in Bromley.
The Tory leaflets are very sparing in what they tell us about Bob-a-Job. What does his wife do? Do his children go to state schools or does he send them to be privately educated. Does he experience life as we ordinary voters do? Its all very intrigueing. What has he got behind the screen he has erected around himself?
Seen the Tory Election Address today. Has "vox pops" from local residents. First one is Neil from Hayes.
Same quotes are at http://www.bob4bromley.com/section/2/
“Bob’s the sort of bloke you see all the year round – not just when there’s an election on.” Neil from Hayes
Only Neil is Cllr Neil Reddin. That will be the same Neil Reddin we list at http://www.bromleylibdems.org.uk/pages/councillors.html
Home address: 13 Warren Drive, Chelsfield, Orpington, Kent, BR6 6EX
So "Neil from Hayes" is actually "Neil from Chelsfield" - not a resident of the ward at all! Words scraping bottom barrel come to mind. Can't they find local supporters???
